Get paid to test Open SourceAI agentsHonestly.
Up to $5 per repo
gitstar connects repository owners with developers who try their projects and write down what really happened. You get paid for the report, never for a star or a fork.
How it works
Four steps from signup to payout
- 01
Join the waitlist
Tell us your GitHub username and main stack. We open onboarding in small groups.
- 02
Pick a brief
Each brief shows the project, the task, the time it should take and the pay before you accept.
- 03
Test and report
Run the task and write what worked and what failed. Bad news counts as much as good news.
- 04
Get paid
Pay follows an accepted report, based on its quality. Your opinion of the project doesn't change it.

FAQ
Questions people ask before joining
Do I get paid to star or fork a repository?
No. Payment is for an accepted test report. Stars and forks are not required, tracked or rewarded. If a brief needs a fork to run the test, that fork is a working copy and earns nothing on its own.
How much will I earn?
Up to $5 per repo, paid when your test report is accepted. Each brief will show its exact pay before you accept it. Paid briefs have not started yet.
Can I write a negative report?
Yes. Reports are reviewed for effort and accuracy, not for how positive they are. A clear report on a broken setup is exactly what owners need.
Do I need to connect GitHub now?
No. The waitlist only asks you to type your username. When the portal opens, you'll be able to link GitHub through OAuth and see what access is requested before you approve it.
When does the portal open?
We'll invite people from the waitlist in small groups and email you when it's your turn.
